Three days is just enough time to fall for Imsouane. This little fishing village on Morocco’s Atlantic coast isn’t about ticking off attractions — it’s about surfing long waves,
eating fresh fish and letting the pace slow right down. Here’s a relaxed itinerary that makes the most of a short stay.
Morning / afternoon: Arrive, settle into your accommodation and take a first walk around. Imsouane is small and walkable, split loosely between
the harbour village above and The Bay below. Get your bearings, feel the sea breeze and let the journey wash off.
Late afternoon: Head down to The Bay for your first look at the famous wave. Whether you paddle out or just watch surfers glide those impossibly
long rides, it’s the perfect welcome.
Evening: Dinner of freshly grilled fish or a slow-cooked tagine at one of the village’s restaurants, followed by an early night — tomorrow starts
in the water.
Morning: This is what you came for. Surf The Bay, one of the longest right-hand waves in Africa and famously mellow enough for beginners and
longboarders alike. If you’re new, book a lesson with a local surf school; if you’re experienced, savour the length of the ride. New to it? Read our complete guide to
surfing The Bay first.
Midday: Refuel with mint tea and lunch at a café overlooking the water.
Afternoon: Wander down to the fishing harbour, the beating heart of the village. Watch the colourful boats come and go and the day’s catch being
landed — it’s the freshest seafood supply chain you’ll ever see.
Evening: Find a west-facing spot and watch the sunset over the Atlantic. Imsouane’s sunsets are the kind you remember.
Option A — Stay local: Enjoy one last dawn surf, a long breakfast and a slow morning by the sea before you leave. Sometimes doing very little is the whole point.
Option B — Explore beyond the village: With half a day, you can take a short day trip along the coast — the drive toward Taghazout or into the argan-tree
countryside is beautiful. See our guide on getting around Imsouane for transport.

If you can stretch to a week, Imsouane makes a dreamy slow-travel base — more surf, more sunsets, and easy trips along one of Morocco’s most beautiful stretches of coast. However
long you stay, you’ll leave planning your return.
