Best Cafés and Restaurants in Imsouane: Where to Eat and Drink

From grilled fish fresh off the boats to coffee, crêpes and sunset dinners with a view of the bay, Imsouane’s food scene is surprisingly varied. Here are the best cafés and restaurants in the village, sorted by what you’re craving.

After a long surf session, few things beat a good meal with a view of the ocean. For a small village, Imsouane has a surprisingly varied food scene: fresh fish at the port, Moroccan classics, crêpes, pizza and coffee shops with terraces over the bay. Here is our guide to where to eat and drink, organised by what you are craving.

Fresh fish and seafood

Fish is the soul of Imsouane. The fishing boats come back to the port every day, and many restaurants serve the catch grilled simply with salad, bread and lemon. Prices are often by weight, so ask before ordering. You can also buy fish at the port and have it grilled nearby; read our guide to the Imsouane fish market.

Restaurants to explore: Restaurant La Paix, Restaurant Targant, 7 Waves Restaurant and Mubaresto.

Meals with a view

Watching the sunset over the bay with dinner is a must in Imsouane. Several restaurants have terraces overlooking the ocean. Try The View Restaurant, Blue Horizon, Shaka Restaurant, Paradis Wave and Jungle Restaurant. Arrive a little early to get a table by the edge.

Coffee and breakfast

Start the day with a strong coffee or a fresh orange juice before your session, or come back for breakfast afterwards. Moroccan breakfast usually includes msemen (flaky pancakes), bread, olive oil, honey, amlou (almond, argan and honey spread), eggs and mint tea. Good addresses: Tazart Café, Café Chez Mouad, Tassra Café & Pastry, Skab Coffee and Loued Coffee Shop.

Crêpes, snacks and quick bites

Need something fast between two sessions? Grab a sweet or savoury crêpe at Imsouane Crepe or Brother’s Crêpes & Café, or a sandwich at Snack Errahma and King Food.

Pizza night

Sometimes you just want pizza. Head to Pizza Amadel for a change from tagine.

Moroccan dishes to try

  • Fish tagine with tomatoes, peppers and potatoes
  • Couscous, traditionally on Fridays
  • Grilled sardines, cheap and delicious
  • Harira, a hearty soup, perfect after a cold winter session
  • Mint tea, everywhere and always
