One Week in Imsouane: The Perfect 7-Day Surf and Travel Itinerary

Seven days is the sweet spot for Imsouane: enough time to really progress in the water, explore the coast and fall into the village’s slow rhythm. Here’s our day-by-day plan, with surf, rest days, day trips and the best sunsets.

Three days in Imsouane gives you a taste; a week lets you settle in. With seven days you can surf every day, take a proper rest day, explore the coast and still have time to do absolutely nothing on a terrace above the bay. Here’s our suggested itinerary. Adapt it to the swell, the tide and your energy.

Day 1: Arrive and settle in

Arrive from Agadir, Marrakech or Essaouira; see how to get to Imsouane. Check in, walk down to the bay, watch the surfers and the fishing boats, and enjoy your first sunset. Grab dinner at a terrace overlooking the water; see our cafés and restaurants guide.

Day 2: First surf session

Start with a lesson or guided session at The Bay. Beginners begin in the white water; improvers head to the main peak. In the afternoon, stretch, rest and explore the village. If you’re new, read what to expect from your first week.

Day 3: Two sessions and the fish market

Surf in the morning when conditions are cleanest, then visit the port as the boats return and buy your lunch at the fish market. Second session in the afternoon if the tide works; see our tide guide.

Day 4: Rest day and Paradise Valley

Your shoulders will thank you. Take a day trip to Paradise Valley for a swim in its rock pools, or stay local with yoga and a long lunch. See surf and yoga in Imsouane.

Day 5: Level up

Book a coaching session with video analysis, or try a different board; see our surfboard guide. Experienced surfers can walk over to Cathedral Point if the swell is right.

Day 6: Explore the coast

Join a surf guide or drive to other spots along the coast, such as Tafedna, Tamri or Taghazout. See surf spots near Imsouane. Back in time for sunset from the cliffs.

Day 7: Last waves and farewell

One last early session, a big Moroccan breakfast, souvenir shopping and a final mint tea above the bay. If you have a late flight, plan your transfer with plenty of time.

Tips to make the most of your week

Only have a few days?

Short on time? Our 3-day itinerary condenses the highlights. Got longer? Read remote work and long stays in Imsouane.
